Presenting in the pod at Bear

On the 25th & 26th April students from year 1 FdA Graphic Design visited the studios of creative branding agency, Bear to present initial ideas for a project set by Creative Director, Roberto D’Andria.  The project involves students designing a proposal for a removal company to rival Rocket Van. Roberto has over 20 years experience working in branding and advertising and he provided invaluable insight into how designers might bring an “entire business to life both strategically and creatively”.

Life with Mario

Old friend of the FdA – Sean Murphy visited Camberwell on the 24th April to take part in an 'in conversation with' Course Leader, Derek Yates in the FdA studio. The conversation took students through his education and later career. After graduating from Central St Martins, Sean worked at North  and after a sabattical at the RCA he went on to launch groundbreaking studio Value & Service where he worked with the likes of Charles Saatchi and Henry Booth Clibborn. Many stories later Sean described how he went on to work as a creative at Wieden & Kennedy before finally landing a job with the legendary fashion photographer, Mario Testino. Sean answered further questions from the students late into the night over a few pints in the Hermits Cave.

Smith Joseph

Director of Design Excellence at BerghindJoseph, Smith Joseph, visited Camberwell on the 24th April to talk to students about how designers and clients can work together more productively. He gave students a guide to strategic design development and pointed out how the design stars of today work intelligently, collaboratively and strategically to benefit their clients business.
